Q NOTE: I thought I published this on Monday, but it turns out I only "saved it". Consequently, I'm pushing the due date to Sunday (instead of the normal Friday!) For your blog this week, I'd like you to watch this TED talk by Americanah author Chimanada Adichie. This is Adichie's first TED talk (she has a second, fantastic one, about feminism) and one that is continuously relevant to our world! https://www.ted.com/talks/chimamanda_adichie_the_danger_of_a_single_story?language=en (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. 1. In your own words, define what a "single story" is? 2. What examples single stories in the talk stand out to you most? Why? 3. What examples of single stories can you think of from our world today, particularly in the United States?

1. From what I learnt from this Ted Talk “single story” is about telling a story of something from one perspective and if is continuously done for several times, people start believing it to be true and to be the only truth available which is not a very pleasant thing to do. The speaker here has made it clear through various stories including the people’s idea about Africans as they are thought to be the savage class. This is just one side of the story which people have believed for years.
